Dr. Elmarie Egan-Sage is an accomplished Counselling, Chartered and Research Psychologist with 20+ years experience of providing therapy for clients. Her therapeutic approach utilises a variety of therapies including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, Gestalt, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychoanalysis, Family Intervention Work, Coaching, Transactional Analysis, Choice Theory, and Play and Creative Arts Therapy.
Elmarie holds a PhD in Psychology, an M.A. in Psychology, a B.A. (Hons) in Philosophy and Psychology, an Advanced Diploma in Counselling, and an Advanced Certificate in Family Work.
Elmarie is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society and a Registered Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland. She was awarded the distinctions of "Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society" in 1998; and "Associate Fellow of the Irish Psychological Society of Ireland" in 2007, in recognition of her contributions to Psychology. Elmarie is also a Full Member of the Irish Division of Counselling Psychology; and an Accredited Member of the Irish Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
Elmarie is a part-time Lecturer in the Adult Education Dept., University College, Cork. She is also a Trainer and provides training across a range of issues. She runs Groups - including self esteem, attachment issues and mindfulness. She has written and runs several short courses including one specifically designed for adopted people. Dr. Elmarie Egan-Sage is an established author and is passionate about research.
